According to the Gender Genie, I'm a man!
I fed it all of the blogpost text on this page, and in return it gave me a score of 4300 for female content, 4828 for male content.
I guess I don't talk enough about babies, shoes, and makeup.

I'm female. But did you see the words it analyzes? with, if, not, where, be, are female?
ReplyDeleteI put in some Maureen Dowd, and she's also a dude.
I wonder if formal training as a writer has anything to do with word choice, or perhaps it's practice, or maybe just being a good writer vs. a rank amateur. But at least you're in good gender-confused company!!
I thought it was excluding those words from the analysis! LOL! Maybe I should have poked around the site a little more for an explanation of how it decides these things.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could be half the dude that Maureen Dowd is.
I can vouch that she NOT male!
ReplyDeleteI put a different post of mine in, and it said I was male. By 800 to 500 or something. Now I put in posts of James' and Chuck's, and they both came out male. so maybe there are more "false positives" on the male side.
ReplyDeleteWeird.
Or just not that great an algorithm.
Well, apparently, one of you has my Y chromosome and I'd like it back, please. It is convinced that I am female. I had it rate the six articles on the my front page. It was a 3/3 split, but my overall total was 2944 female to 2680 male. Percentage wise, that is roughly the same spread as Julie, but in the other direction.
